The formalising process for recruits known as signing day starting wednesday was followed by the early signing period for college football recruits for the joint cyle of 2025. As new recruit classes are being brought in students have already begun participation in conference championships followed by the selection for the college football playoffs as well as the opening of the transfer portal on 9 December 2025.
It is indisputable that new athletes will always come from the high school ranks despite these changes in the recruiting landscape, and it just so happened that many of the country’s top prospects were in the forefront of the action this past Wednesday.
There is a class and a cycle I tend to observe all year round, and that is the reason why I’ve been keen to year after year, track my scouting position for 247Sports. The teams do have losses, and these days their record does seem to show it. Either way, we have classified teams as winning and losing for today depending on results of today’s events or the last few weeks. Rankings of teams are as they were at 5 PM ET on Wednesday.
National Signing Day 2024 Winners
Team Name- Texas
Class rank No. 1
Do not hold your breath waiting for Texas to slide down as it doesn’t seem possible. The Longhorns and Steve Sarkisian are presently positioned to finalize what would be the highest-ranked recruiting class of the program since 2012, having recently reached the highest rank of 1 with the assistance of a Wednesday influx.
On Tuesday, Texas went to the spatula and managed to reel in four-star cornerback Kade Phillips back into the fold and less than a day later signed utilityman Michael Terry III. Terry – who is something of a younger version of former UT superstar Ja’Tavion Sanders – became the third five-star from Texas joined the class.
Team Name- Oregon
Class rank No. 4
The Ducks made the most noise among all idle players during yesterday, stealing away five star prospect Na’eem Offord a cornerback committed to Ohio State and four star recruit quarterback Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele and also maintained the signing of five star rated wide receiver Dallas Wilson who had had interests from both Florida and Miami late in the game. They were able to get Tobi Haastrup who can be classified as a boom or bust pass rusher. Oregon woke up with pound-for-pound one of the nation’s strongest recruiting classes and did nothing but added to it.
Team Name- Texas A&M
Class rank No. 8
At the last minute, Texas A&M completed its top 10-ranked class by announcing the signing of five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles and five-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers.
As they stand, the Aggies have 12 players within the Top247 that have signed with them which is quite impressive, however, the real depth of the class can be found a little deeper in the ranking of commits. With that said, Elko and his staff made it a point to seek out and develop low tier recruits that could provide depth as well as offer them a variety of skills. Mission accomplished.
Team Name- Florida
Class rank No. 10
The DJ Lagway effect is a fact, and the example of Florida’s recruiting class jumping from outside the top 50 of the rankings to the edge of the top 10 in a matter of weeks speaks for itself – momentum is important for talent acquisition.
No, Billy Napier & Co. did not manage to grab everyone, but such a day should not be classified as defeat either. Instead, recall that in the same period last year, the Gators fell in the recruiting rankings, and people lost hope for Napier. It is Lagway’s performance at the end of the regular season that relieves the pressure.
Team Name- Georgia Tech
Class rank No. 18
What a year it turned out to be for Brent Key: he managed to beat Florida State in Week 0 and was inches away from sending Georgia packing in an epic eight-overtime brawl at the end of the regular season. On Wednesday, not only did Key put together what is projected to be the most highly-ranked class in program history, he did it while competing with the biggest names in the sport.
After defeating both the Ohio State and Tennessee in the summer months for five-star offensive tackle Josh Petty, the Yellow jackets sealed the deal with prized four-star athlete Dalen Penson after he rebuffed a last minute offer from USC. This came a week after he transferred four-star safety Tae Harris from Clemson, who had just been signed.
Team Name- South Carolina
Class rank No. 20
In the morning, the Gamecocks flipped Zavion Hardy, who is the 1st ranked Junior college player in the country, committing him to South Carolina from Mississippi State. After a bit, they teamed up against USC and Michigan and made off with a late-bloomer, Christian Ingram However, while both Hardy and Ingram will likely not make a Stewart-like impact in 2025, they do raise the already impressive South Carolina class by an additional peg.
South Carolina ended up signing 10 front-seven defenders altogether on Wednesday. With that, the Gamecocks, who have this season tripled the SEC’s second-best team with 40 sacks, should remain spicy on defense!
Team Name- Florida State
Class rank No. 22
There is no denying the credit FSU deserves for quite a remarkable performance from Mike Norvell who went on to win in the end.
There were losses to contend with in the preceding months but Wednesday saw more gains as the seminoles managed to reverse the 4-star running back Kromah Ousmane from Georgia, 3-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs from UCF and 3-star corner Shamar Anroux from Auburn.
FSU’s class was in the 50s range in November but with Norvell’s efforts, the class made its way to a position at 22 which is quite impressive. There is every chance that the Noles hoist a top 25 position class which is quite a feat for a wretched 2-10 season.
National Signing Day 2024 Losers
Team Name- USC
Class rank No. 13
The figure states that California consistently fuels and produces around 21.4 picks in the NFL draft each and every year which makes it disheartening to find out that only 5 of the recruits signed by the USC class were from California itself.
For the better part of the season, trying to figure out what the Trojans were about to deploy was a challenge. Step one saw the Trojans making two offensive gains of defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart as well as Defensive back Alex Graham who live thousands of miles away from USC. However, it can also be said that the list of decommits for USC is probably more impressive than the actual nominees signed.
Team Name- Oklahoma
Class rank No. 16
Things could have turned out to be worse for Oklahoma had 5-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi decided to ditch the Sooners for the Texas program at the last moment, but alas that did not take place. Still, for Brent Venables, it was quite an uneventful Wednesday.
Oklahoma also lost the commitments of wide receivers Marcus Harris and Gracen Harris, who had been most active in the week heading to the signing period. The highest ranked receiver in the class, Cortez Mills, eventually decided to sign with Nebraska. While new offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle was able to secure a transfer of three star quarterback Jett Niu on the same day ‘former’ 5 star signee Jackson Arnold transferred, who in the world will he be throwing to in 2025?
Team Name- Clemson
Class rank No. 26
If you have been with us till now, you know the story: Dabo Swinney doesn’t use the transfer portal. He will claim that veteran acquisitions are not necessary. Not when Clemson is a win away from qualifying for the first 12-team playoff, but the roster picture for the Tigers is starting to become very bleak.
Clemson lang daar op woensdag met slechts 15 undertekenares-sygners in vision. Unless, of course, Swinney has a few Deion Sanders tricks up his sleeves, it appears to be reaching our for the Tigers, the worst finish since the inception of the 247sports ranking era and only the second time they finish a class outside the top 25.
Sure, there are some future NFL draftees who will join Clemson but it has to be said that the Tigers lost five of their seven highest-ranked commits in the last stretch. Actually like this, the depth chart for clemson’s roster is going to take a huge hit, which is daft with the developments that we need to win a national championship, teams might have to win 17 games to get to the top.
In a collision of football fame and pop culture, rumors have emerged linking Atlético Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, the rising star of the Albiceleste, to Mia Khalifa, a controversial yet widely recognized figure in entertainment and activism.
The whispers began in Argentina, and like wildfire, they’ve spread across social media, igniting speculation and debate.
But what’s the truth behind these headlines?
The Origins of the Rumor
It all started with a report from Argentine gossip outlets suggesting a connection between Alvarez and Khalifa. Details are sparse, but that hasn’t stopped fans and tabloids from fueling the story. Cryptic social media posts, unverified claims, and the allure of a potential high-profile pairing have turned this into a topic everyone seems to have an opinion on.
The timing is curious. Alvarez, fresh from his World Cup triumph with Argentina, has become one of the most talked-about young talents in football. Khalifa, on the other hand, remains a polarizing figure whose shift from entertainment to advocacy has kept her in the public eye. Together, their names have created a buzz that’s impossible to ignore.
Who Is Julian Alvarez?
For those unfamiliar, Alvarez is more than just another footballer. At 23, his achievements on the pitch have made him a household name, with his sharp skills and unshakable composure under pressure earning him admiration from fans and pundits alike. But his private life? That’s been a mystery—until now.
Who Is Mia Khalifa?
Mia Khalifa is no stranger to headlines. Born in Lebanon and raised in the U.S., her journey has been anything but conventional. From her controversial rise in entertainment to becoming a vocal advocate for social justice and a cultural icon, Khalifa’s life story has captivated millions. Her connection to Alvarez, if true, marks yet another unexpected twist in her public narrative.
The Suspense Builds
As with any high-profile rumor, opinions are divided. Some fans are gleefully speculating about the nature of their alleged connection, while others are calling for caution, questioning the sources and motives behind the story.
Is this a budding romance, a friendly association, or simply a case of tabloid sensationalism?
Neither Alvarez nor Khalifa has addressed the rumors, which only adds to the intrigue. For now, their silence is deafening, leaving fans to connect the dots—or draw their own conclusions.
What’s Really Going On?
Without confirmation, the story remains a tantalizing mystery. But one thing is clear: the intersection of Alvarez’s meteoric football career and Khalifa’s larger-than-life persona has created a narrative too compelling to ignore. Whether this is the beginning of an unexpected partnership or simply another chapter in the world of celebrity gossip, the spotlight on these two figures isn’t dimming anytime soon.
For now, the world watches and waits. Will this be a fleeting rumor, or is there something more to the story? Stay tuned—this saga is far from over.
Lily Phillips, a polarizing figure, has set the internet ablaze with her announcement to attempt a shocking record – engaging with 1,000 men in a single event.
The bold declaration has sparked a global debate, with opinions sharply divided.
While some view the stunt as an audacious statement of empowerment, others see it as a reflection of society’s growing obsession with spectacle and voyeurism. Phillips’ announcement has not only captivated audiences but also reignited discussions about boundaries, consent, and cultural values in the digital age.
Is this a bold statement of empowerment or a troubling reflection of society’s obsession with spectacle?
The World Record That’s Turning Heads
Phillips, known for pushing boundaries, recently announced plans to break an extraordinary record that has not been seriously attempted in over two decades. Her pursuit has ignited a firestorm of opinions, with supporters admiring her audacity and critics questioning the implications of such a bold move.
This isn’t the first time Phillips has made waves. Her previous achievements have challenged perceptions of endurance, determination, and the lengths one will go to achieve the extraordinary. This latest endeavor, however, aims to surpass anything previously seen in her field, promising to redefine the limits of what is possible.
Why Everyone Is Talking About It?
Social media has erupted with debates, with some hailing her effort as a groundbreaking challenge and others voicing concerns about the personal and societal impact of such pursuits. Many are drawing comparisons to past record attempts that sparked similar global conversations, questioning where the line between ambition and excess truly lies.
Phillips’ story has also reignited interest in the physical and mental challenges tied to high-stakes achievements, shedding light on the often-overlooked realities behind these headline-grabbing feats.
The Cultural Ripple Effect
Beyond the spectacle, Phillips’ record attempt has become a cultural flashpoint. It raises questions about personal agency, societal fascination with extraordinary challenges, and the broader implications of pushing human limits. Whether seen as a pioneering act or a polarizing stunt, her story is forcing audiences to confront deeper questions about ambition, endurance, and the price of attention in a hyper-connected world.
What Happens Next?
As Phillips prepares for her monumental endeavor, the world watches with equal parts curiosity and skepticism. Regardless of the outcome, her pursuit has sparked a conversation that transcends the record itself, touching on themes of resilience, purpose, and the lengths people will go to leave a lasting legacy.
One thing is certain: Lily Phillips has captured the global spotlight, and her story is far from over.
A new chapter begins for The Karate Kid franchise as Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio team up in Karate Kid: Legends, set to release on May 30, 2025. The long-awaited trailer has stirred excitement, blending nostalgia with a fresh story that bridges generations of martial arts fans.
Chan returns as Mr. Han, while Macchio reprises his iconic role as Daniel LaRusso. They’re joined by rising star Ben Wang as Li Fong, a young martial artist with big ambitions.
The trailer opens with a heartfelt scene of Mr. Han seeking Daniel’s guidance, paying tribute to the late Mr. Miyagi through a touching photo in Han’s dojo.
With themes of mentorship, unity, and tradition, Karate Kid: Legends promises to honor the franchise’s roots while carving out an inspiring new path.
Melding Two Universes into One Tree of Tradition
The film skillfully weaves together elements from the original Karate Kid series and Chan’s 2010 reboot. Symbolism of trees and branches permeates the story, representing the convergence of two distinct eras of the franchise. “Kung fu. Karate. The tree grows strong,” Han explains, highlighting the shared roots of their teachings.
Han’s relationship with Li Fong mirrors the iconic bond between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi, creating a bridge between the past and present. In a heartfelt moment, Han tells Daniel, “Li means to me what you meant to Sensei Miyagi.” The narrative emphasizes the importance of familial connections and shared traditions, encapsulated in the film’s tagline.
The Legacy of Cobra Kai and the Franchise’s Evolution
While Karate Kid: Legends charts a new cinematic chapter, the franchise continues to draw strength from its successful Netflix series Cobra Kai. The spinoff, which has captivated audiences with its blend of humor, drama, and nostalgia, is preparing to conclude with its sixth and final season.
“Reacquainting the world with The Karate Kid universe has been our humble honor,” said executive producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg in a heartfelt statement. They reflected on the opportunity to expand the series’ legacy, honoring the original creators while introducing new generations of underdogs.
Their goal, as stated, was to “end it on our terms,” bringing the journey full circle in a way that respects the rich history of the franchise. As Cobra Kai concludes, Karate Kid: Legends emerges as a natural successor, poised to carry the torch forward with a compelling blend of old and new.
A New Chapter Under Skilled Direction
Helmed by director Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F**ing World*, I’m Not Okay with This), with a screenplay by Rob Lieber (Peter Rabbit, Alexander and the Terrible), Karate Kid: Legends promises a blend of heartfelt storytelling and dynamic action. The film’s cast, led by Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, and Ben Wang, brings both gravitas and fresh energy to the screen.
Fans of the franchise can look forward to a thoughtful exploration of its enduring themes—mentorship, resilience, and the power of tradition—while welcoming a new generation into the fold. With its release just months away, Karate Kid: Legends is already shaping up to be a landmark moment in the legacy of The Karate Kid.
