To this statement, TikTok responded that this case is still ongoing and this is not the last of it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A spokesperson for TikTok stated, \u201cTogether with the employers, we believe that the Supreme Court has always stood for the First Amendment rights of the citizens of the United States and, therefore, is likely to rule on this part of the Constitution similarly.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the claims of the US Government restricting the app, they further explained that the law was targeting the app based on incorrect assumptions and that if the law was passed it would amount to a violation of freedom of speech for US citizens. The app might also receive a boost from Donald Trump\u2019s victory in the 2024 US Election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although he tried unsuccessfully to have TikTok banned in his first term in 2020, he has claimed that he will enforce the TikTok ban during the November elections. Donald Trump is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20, the day after the law prohibits the use or sale of TikTok. However, it remains to be seen whether he will follow through with his pre-election vow.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The president-elect would be \u201cswimming upstream to spare TikTok\u201d according to Professor James Grimmelmann of Cornell University.
